Book Review For Her Maine Man

Book Review for: "Her Maine Man"Written by: Sylvie KayeWild Rose PressISBN: 1-60154-406-X304 pages$14.994.5 StarsKaye pens a sensual contemporary romance with "Her Maine Man." Set on a rural island in Maine, this is one romance that will leave the reader breathless as they turn the page. The novel opens with Jon learning that his mother would go to Maine once a year to a remote island to meet her lover. His mother has recently passed away and his sister, Sarah, asks him to go to Maine to break the news to his mother's lover. It's convenient because Jon has business on nearby Bain Island with the mayor.Victor Powell, the mayor of Bain Island asks his daughter, Maddie, to go to Rose Island and meet his lover. He can't go because he's taking care of his ex-wife who is in a wheelchair. Maddie reluctantly agrees.Jon and Maddie meet on the ferry ride over. They get to the cottage, but they don't put two and two together as to why they are there. Instead, a severe storm traps them in the cottage and the two share personal secrets. Jon and Maddie try to leave the cottage, but the storm forces them back to the shelter. Unable to contain their combustible sparks any longer, they share a night of passion. The next morning they go their separate ways after promising to meet up in a year.Jon goes to Bain Island and meets Victor. He also meets Maddie and realizes she's a "Bain." Jon stays the week to work and become embroiled in a passionate affair with Maddie. Will the secrets that Jon and Maddie's families keep from them drive the couple apart, or will love prevail? Only time will tell.Kaye's writing is easy to read and she immediately engages the reader with secrets kept both by Jon and Maddie's family. Her dialogue is realistic and the plot is tight.Kaye's descriptions are pitch perfect. She uses the five senses as well as similes to paint a vivid Maine backdrop. Her characters are wonderfully complex. This is a story with substance. Jon is haunted by his alcoholic father and wants something more from his life. Maddie is unable to make an emotional connection with her mother. Surprisingly, both Jon and Maddie find that emotional connection with each other."Her Maine Man" is a sophisticated romance novel. Kaye's love scenes between Jon and Maddie are hot and passionate, capturing an intense bond between the characters. "Her Maine Man" is a romance I couldn't put down. dr seuss cat in hat quotes

"Love, Lust, and Petty Crime" by Harclubs Bartag - A Reader Review

Emmet Storch is our main focus. The self-imposed black sheep of the family due to his inability to secure a long-term steady job, he is often the butt of his younger brother's jokes, the thorn in his father's side, and the consoling soul at the feet of his mother. It's hard when your true passion lies in things that do not amount to a mountain of green. His particular passions...drinking while spouting philosophies, reading for hours on end, and computer game master of several online sites...do nothing to bolster his resume to assure a job hire; bad news considering he has a job interview to go to. Today, though, will be different. He's sure of it. After a breakfast fit for several kings, he sets out on what could be the first day of the rest of his business life. But wait...is a job at an insurance call center really going to fit the bill? Can he stick it out for the long haul or will it just end up the latest of his many trials and failures? You're about to find out...Author Harclubs Bartag takes you on along as a passenger to this whimsical, yet sardonically funny life adventure with points of interest all along the way. The writing style is akin to a casual observer; someone that is omnipresent, yet still has opinions about what is transpiring in the story. I love the way the main character is introduced. You instantly develop a picture of this pudgy little man greeting the world with a disgruntled half-smile in order to gain its favor while the whole time he is banging his head against the proverbial wall of success... trying to break it down no less, instead of climb the ladder that is sitting to his right. The witty banter albeit crude at times has good timing and will elicit a chuckle from even the most serious of readers. Just try not to crack a smile when he boards the elevator for his meeting on floor five, but looks for a button marked as 'hell' instead.Overall, the story flows rather well from chapter to chapter and the dynamic of Emmet's life are not so far fetched that they can't be imagined as having happened to your friend next door. Recommended for late teens and adult readers as the languages, as mentioned previously, can be foul at times, but is meant in good humor. If you enjoy a candid look at real life through a fictional character, this one's for you. dr seuss cat in hat history

Espionage and Suspense Writer, Robert Ludlum, Author Biographies

At an early age, Robert Ludlum started working on the Broadway stage as both an actor and, later on, a producer. He jokes that since the good actors were drafted in the armed forces, he had no trouble finding acting jobs. He also served in the U.S. Marines as a soldier, from 1945 through 1947.Robert was a television star in the 1950s, starring in as many as 200 dramas. He was a producer at the North Jersey Playhouse in 1957 and opened the Playhouse-on-the-Mall in Paramus in 1960. It is estimated that he wrote 300 stage productions.Robert Ludlum was born on May 25,1927, in New York City, New York, but spent most of his childhood in New Jersey. His father, George Hartford Ludlum, a business man, died when Robert was only seven years old.Robert was educated both privately and at the Cheshire Academy, Connecticut. He participated in high school plays even though he really wanted to be a football quarterback.Robert earned his B.A. in 1951, from Wesleyan University in Middleton Connecticut. Robert and actress, Mary Ryducha, married in 1951, and had three children. In the 1970s, they bought a farmhouse in Long Island and a second home in Florida.Although Robert Ludlum was a 'closet writer' for many years, it wasn't until he was 40 years old that, getting bored with show business, he started writing his first novel. To support his family during this time, he did voice overs.Roberts first novel, 'The Scarlatti Inheritance,' was published in 1971, after ten rejections, and became an immediate best seller. He says everyone has a story to tell, so this novel was easy for him to write. The second novel was more difficult.Robert writes violent, fast paced books. It is said of his writing, "He captures the imagination of his readers from the first pages and keeps them absorbed in the story."He died on March 12, 2001. A ghost writer has continued his work. This note appeared with 'The Tristan Betrayal,' "Since his death, the Estate of Robert Ludlum has worked with a carefully selected author and editor to prepare and edit this work for publication."Books by Robert Ludlum:Series:Road To

His case was overturned in 1999, siting an unfair trial.Linda Fairstein draws on her legal expertise for her series character, Alexandra Cooper, a Manhattan prosecutor. Linda says she writes her series in the first person because, "I want them 'the readers' to see victimization and then hopefully the result in the courtroom from Alex's perspective." Linda's first Alex Cooper novel, 'Final Jeopardy,' was made into an ABC television movie starring Dana Delaney.Linda says that people that aren't very bright probably commit 90% of crimes in this country. She says that in her books, she may invent the murders, but the motives of the murders come from the motives in real cases. She says she has never written about any of her actual cases.Linda centers all her novels in notable places around New York City. She states, "I just love having places that are real and very rich with history, and then I let my imagination loose." She says she wants each book to be an entertaining escapism, and for the reader to come away learning something new. She said for her, writing the first hundred pages is equivalent to having a root canal but after 200 pages, it's smooth sailing.Linda loves to collect historical trivia, antique jewelry, desk and writing objects. She collects first edition books, particularly of crime and mystery genre. She also collects nineteenth century British Literature. She loves reading mysteries and her favorite television show is CSI Special Victims Unit.Linda and her husband, Justin Feldman, live in Manhattan and have a home in Martha's Vineyard where they go each year for four months. Candida Diet Cookbooks For Your Sugar Free Diet

Looking for good cookbooks for your candida diet? I have several good references for this. One of them is I use this great cookbook called Candida Albicans Yeast-Free Cookbook: How Good Nutrition Can Help Fight the Epidemic of Yeast-Related Diseases.I love this book because the recipes are so easy to do. I am a confirmed protein-and-sweets eater, don't really like vegetables or fruit. But this book is converting me.There's also a great recipe in here for Mock Spaghetti, if you are Italian, you might like it. You take a small spaghetti squash and cut it in half lengthwise. You bring 1 1/2 inches of water to boil and plop the squash in cut side down and cover and simmer for about 20-30 min or until you can poke a fork through the back.Meanwhile you make spaghetti sauce. I usually cheat here and use a can of sauce and a can of stewed chopped tomatoes and chop up some veggies and throw it in there and simmer it all together for a while. There is a recipe in here for a spaghetti sauce using all fresh ingredients that they recommend. When the squash is done, drain the water and use a fork to scratch out the pulp. It looks like spaghetti! Put it on a plate and put the sauce over it and eat! It's so good, I think it's better than pasta which, once you're on this diet a while, tastes like paste.I also use Erica White's "Beat Candida Cookbook" and I find it pretty good - it even grades the recipes for difficulty, to help you decide if you've got the energy to even start them on the really yucky days! seuss book collection sets cat hat

The Queen of Hearts Continues to Roll Heads Today

The Queen of Hearts has been sending fear down our spines for almost 150 years. The fictional character was created by Lewis Carroll and brought to life in his timeless classic Alice in Wonderland. She ruled over Wonderland with her foul temper and violent behavior. Just a playing card, she scared the wits out of Wonderland's residents and is just as powerful in pop culture today. Check out why the Queen of Hearts is so memorable and even why we love her."Off with his head!"
It is safe to say the Queen of Hearts liked to keep her punishments short and simple. One of the most famous quotes from Alice in Wonderland, "off with their heads" is still heard and mocked today in pop culture. Anything and everything would make the Queen's short temper snap with a beheading as the consequence. However, the King of Hearts granted pardons to many of the Queen's victim and very few heads rolled in the storybook.Plays by her own rules
Who could forget the croquet match between the Queen and Alice? The average game of croquet consists of wooden mallets and stakes, solid balls and wired hoops with directions to follow. The Queen, however, feels free to play by her own rules with flamingos as mallets, hedgehogs as balls and her servants as hoops guaranteeing her a win every time. If not, well it's off with winner's head!Power and Authority
It is no question that the Queen of Hearts possessed power and authority, something we all wish we had a little bit of. Wonderland's residents lived in fear and went out of their way to please the Queen. Throughout the story, the White Rabbit is a nervous wreck and in chapter eight, Alice comes upon three cards painting roses red in fright of the Queen's dislike for white roses. Now if we could only find servants like that.Makes Delicious Tarts
"The Queen of Hearts she made some tarts all on a summer's day. The Knave of Hearts he stole the tarts and took them clean away." The Knave will agree the Queen knows how to bake! Published before Alice in Wonderland, the classic nursery rhyme was incorporated into Carroll's story with the Knave's trial. The trial takes place at the story's climax with Alice testifying and admiring the tarts herself. One of a kind
Don't get the Queen of Hearts mixed up with the Red Queen, or your head will roll. The Red Queen appears in Carroll's sequel Through the Looking Glass and is represented by a chess piece. Still an antagonist, the Red Queen doesn't have a foul temper and is defeated by Alice after she herself becomes a queen. In both Disney versions, the 1951 animated film and Tim Burton's adaptation, the two queens are combined to create one unforgettable character. dr seuss cat in hat quotes

Anastasia, Lost in the Desert?

The Pearl of Dubai by Grant Foster ISBN 9781448920853 Published by Publish America, Baltimore, MD Review copy sent by author.Foster writes another accounting of the life of the real Anastasia, Daughter of the last Tsar of Russia. Historical fiction can be confining if the facts are maintained. Foster appears to have researched and verified as much as he can and still render an interesting romantic mystery. The tale begins in 1916 with the Imperial Family spending more time at the Winter Palace. There are secrets, intrigues, Rasputin and Bolsheviks throughout. The story follows the historical line from there referring back to history when needed but not becoming overburdened with historical references.Although Foster is dealing with historical reality and personalities the plot is not hampered and flows very well. This reviewer has never even considered the premise for this plot before and the title indicates a different twist to the story of Anastasia at least. When the plot begins to build and everything falls into place, there are sufficient surprises to keep the reader turning the pages. The characters stay true to history with the plot twist considered. The introduction of a culture currently greatly misunderstood helps to enhance the development of the characters introduced for fiction flow. Each character is lifelike and full. The personalities shine through the written word revealing just sufficient quirks to make the whole book interesting. The re-telling of Anastasia's mystery doesn't spoil the book. Overall Pearl is a surprisingly easy read with delightful characters, a tight plot and just enough romantic spark to generate a new search for Anastasia and legends of her life. Since writing is not Foster's first career, the other books promised on the back cover are definitely worth waiting for. This is heartily recommended to any and all readers, but of particular interest to the Anastasia story fans. For criticism the author would be well served by utilizing a good editor and proof reader. But this does not prevent any reader from enjoying the book. dr seuss cat in hat history

Power - The Source of All Achievements

Napoleon Hill in his bestseller "Think & Grow Rich" states that power is essential for success in the accumulation of wealth. His argument is that plans are useless and cannot be turned into action unless someone is properly empowered to carry them through. He defines power as an organized and intelligently directed knowledge, an organized effort necessary to enable an individual to transform desire into money. Such effort requires coordination between two or more people who work in common towards the same goal.Let's assume that the goal is to conduct a major project. Such endeavor would require an intelligent person, one who plans and directs the project so as to coordinate the knowledge and effort of the group of people working on it. Hill calls it the "Master Mind": "No two minds ever come together without a third hidden, intangible force which may be assimilated to a third mind."Among the greatest master minds of the 20th century, Hill names Henry Ford and Gandhi who in different circumstances and with different aims have demonstrated outstanding power and success in attaining their respective goals.Good will and consensus are keys to success in every enterprise. Every man who manages a business knows how difficult it is to achieve social peace. Hence the reason why every modern manager spends so much time and efforts into building a workforce which work together for a common goal. This is what Hill calls the great universal storehouse of Infinite Intelligence: "When two or more people coordinate in a spirit of good will and consensus, and work towards the same objective, they place themselves in position, through that alliance, to absorb power from the great universal storehouse of Infinite Intelligence".In any circumstances, people working on the same project or in the same enterprise must build together a synergy of energy, commitment and excitement to create and implement strategies, brainstorm plans, and support each other with complete straightforwardness, openness, and sincerity. This powerful alliance of minds will achieve wonders. dr seuss cat in hat book

Mystery Thriller Fans Rejoice

Operation Snowshoe
By: Thomas F. Erickson
Published By Durban House
ISBN: 978-0-9818486-0-0Operation Snowshoe is a rare treat, a suspenseful novel that seems torn from today's headlines of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and what led up to them. It's a fast-paced thrill ride full of intrigue, spying, and rich, complex characterizations that make the participants in the drama that unfolds seem real enough to step off of the page. It's the story of the Chicago Mafia lawyer (or consigliere, as he's also known as) Tom Kempner, his wife, Katherine, and how when his wife gets sent a trunk containing diaries and other documents that had belonged to her grandfather, British WWII General Alan Cunningham, their lives get turned upside down. In fact, when their neighbor, the orthopedic surgeon R.A. Anthony Gaylani, snoops around and pilfers one of the documents, and Katherine tries to get her husband to pay attention to the possible connection between this and the current ongoing Arab/Israeli conflict in the Middle East, it costs her her life. We've all heard and read of various wheelings and dealings between the CIA and the Mafia, but never quite like the way author Thomas Erickson deftly portrays them in this excellent dynamic novel. Everyone seems to be spying on everyone else, even while ostensibly cooperating with them, everyone has his own agendas, and it's difficult to know who are the good guys and the bad guys, because no one is totally innocent nor above breaking the law to achieve their own goals. Erickson unfolds a cloak-and-dagger game that has its roots in the WWII era (and, one could argue, much further back, to the time of the book of Genesis in the Bible), that involves members of the British royal family, Arabic terrorist cells, 9/11, and Israel's right to exist as an independent state.Gaylani is the orthopedic surgeon who repaired bullet holes in Kempner's chest and his shattered leg when Tom got wounded in Vietnam. But, Katherine suspects him of being much more than his surface cover suggest he is - some of the papers of her grandfather allude to another Gaylani, an Arabic one, who collaborated with the Nazis and swore his son would continue their plans. Could it be that their next door neighbor is the son mentioned in her grandfather's papers, though he says that he's a Catholic Italian and he's married to a Jewish woman, Joanne?Tom invites him over because Gaylani has suggested he'd like to have a wine tasting party, and he's an expert in wines. Katherine passes out, and dies despite the doctor's attempts to resuscitate her. Kempner doesn't like to consider it, but eventually comes to believe his wife had been correct to suspect Gaylani as being part of a terrorist sleeper cell, and that Gaylani, having reason to think Katherine was on to him, deliberately put some sort of drug in her drink and then finished her off by strangling her under the pretense of attempting to revive her.Being a lawyer for the mob and the confidante and legal counselor for its don, Mr. Gary Barberi, as well as the boyhood friend of the Deputy Director of the CIA, Admiral Eric Weiss, Kempner has assisted both the mob and the CIA before. Barberi is a modern sort of don, who doesn't want the Chicago Mafia to deal drugs, and he's got a very business-oriented attitude about increasing his and the mob's wealth. Kempner comes to realize that maybe Gaylani didn't act alone in murdering his wife, and though he wants to get revenge on the Arab who pretends to be an Italian, the CIA and the Mafia or both together might also have worked and planned to arrange for Katherine's untimely demise. Also, banker heiress and journalist Patricia Zwilling investigates the possibly suspicious death. Her grandfather was a ruthless banker, unconcerned with how his money was made, investing and laundering the Mafia's ill-gotten gains. His fortune built a mansion on the estate he'd bought with the money he'd made, and though the mansion was burnt to the ground, Patricia still lives in the guesthouse and is trying to now use the wealth her grandfather and father accumulated for the good, distributing much of it to various charities. Her confrontations with Barberi and others are tense, and make for some of the novel's best scenes, though virtually every page is interesting and if the novel was made into a movie, it would be, IMHO, a blockbuster that would earn millions.Operation Snowshoe is a complex novel filled with intrigue, and it will have you on the edge of your seat, reading late into the night. How can an individual fight against the combined might of the CIA and the Mafia? What does a yellow Labrador Retriever named Snowshoe have to do with the Arb/Israeli conflict? To what lengths should a country like America, which on the surface supports freedom and equal rights for all, go to protect its sovereignty? These vital questions and many more make up the subject matter the plot of Operation Snowshoe. This is a novel I'd highly recommend to anyone who loves mystery/thrillers, and is interested in the roots of 9/11, the Arab/Israeli conflict, and the current turmoil in the Middle East.--Douglas R. A Teaching Tool For Many Poets

Live, Love, Laugh With Me (2009), is book of poetry forms written by Jacquelyn Sturge, the Limerick Poetry Queen. It outlines her poetic style which starts with the letter A through Z. One must imagine the amount of planning, writing and reading, rewriting, and rereading she puts into this book to bring it to its final fruition. The book starts with her picture and a dedication to her family members, relatives, friends, and poetry lovers everywhere for their support. The first poem entitled, My Prayer, written in ABC Verse gives a rendition of the alphabet from A through Z in praises to God. It's inspiring and uplifting. Being from Trinidad, her poem entitled Trinbago Carnival, and written in the Acrostic poetic form is very jovial. It flows with the musical touch of the carnival, which comes right before Ash Wednesday and is similar to Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Linking to this is a poem entitled, Our Own Fireworks, written in the Anacreontic form also brings a flavor of delight with the melody of Auld Lang Sine to boost the spirit with a glass of wine as the carnival. Her bio poem on page 15 is entitled, I Am Jacquelyn. This poem is an introduction to the personality of the poet and gives a snap shot of her style. She prays for wars to end and the return of Jesus. Another poem which enhances reality is the poem, My Cell, which is written in the Chain poetic form. It gives another snapshot at her thoughts and how she has become a prisoner to her cell phone. This poem is realistic and applicable to today's generation chained to their cell phones. This book has a variety of realistic poems. For example, The Governor, written in the Chastushka form relates to the governor of Illinois and selling of votes. Naturally, she has a strong belief in the upholding of honest government for the people. The poem entitled, Winter, written in the Cinqku form and addresses the current state of winter is very real. Relating to this poem is the groundhog; upon seeing his shadow he has left the Midwest and the East Coast of America with snow blizzards and lack of electricity in some places. One must not forget the airplane in New York and the poem entitled, Miracle On The Hudson, written in the Dodoitsu poetic style. In this poem she brings reality to the forefront regarding the saving of lives.Continuing with a series of reality poems she has several pieces, one is entitled, Driver's Command, written in the Sedoka poetic form. The imagery in this poem is clear regarding the tasks a driver faces on a bus with disturbing passengers. The next piece entitled, Junk Mail, is written in the Spoem poetic form. It brings to mind the variety of junk mail from credit card companies, department stores, and the like, one receives by email on a daily basis. Finally, she ends the poetry book with the last word of the alphabet in a poem entitled, Follow My Heart, written in the Zejel poetic form. This poem speaks of the author's passion of following her heart, asking her Lord to show her the right way to travel on her poetic journey, and to never depart from Him. seuss book collection sets cat hat

Five Books About France

One observer remarked that there was nothing wrong with France except for the French! Love them or hate them, the French have their own Gallic charm and character which at once renders them amongst the most interesting and infuriating of any people of the West! In short, they are intriguing and have a history which rivals that of any Old World country - to visit France is to take a journey not just of several thousand miles but back in time several thousand years. One Hundred & One Beautiful Small Towns in FranceBy Simonetta GreggioWhile France celebrates its culture and history in cities such as Paris, Lyon and Toulouse it is only when you get out of the major urban areas and into the countryside that you begin to get a taste of the real France or la vie Francais!France is primarily an agricultural country with a huge section of the population working and living on the land. The small towns in France are where the true French way of life is to be found. Whether you are looking for the statue of Cyrano de Bergerac in Bergerac itself, megez in Arcachon, calvados in Caen or La Loup de Rocamadour (the Wolf of Rocamadour) in, where else but Rocamadour - then this is the book for you.It is not coldly detailed as many guides are but tries to give you a taste of small towns and places to go visit and hopefully stay a while so you can truly enjoy the unique culture of France.France (Country Guide) (Paperback)By Nicola Williams and othersThis is a collaborative work from seven different writers, each with their own views on France and covering different cities and rural areas. As the work of constructing the guide has been split between so many different reviewers you are assured of two things - differing points of view on the same topics and reviews by people who truly know about the areas they are talking and writing about.I also liked this book because it contrasts the views of French and foreign guide reviewers - you are sure to get an honest opinion from different perspectives using this volume which can make the difference between a great vacation and a wasted trip.France (Eyewitness Travel Guide)By Roger Williams & Robin GauldieThis is a very comprehensive volume and you will not get lost for lack of something to see or do. The attention to detail is pitched at the right level - guide books so often deteriorate into histories or a collection of personal anecdotes which defeat the object.Informative without being overbearing and the writers hit the target when it comes to providing enough basic information to cover the mundane while providing more advice and tips when it comes to the more interesting. For instance, points of interest such as museums or art galleries come complete with direct dial telephone numbers and email addresses, which is something you usually don't find in other mainstream guides. The photography and image reproduction are first-rate with cutaways and diagrams marking standing out and which are the signature of the Eyewitness series. The Discovery of France: A Historical GeographyBy Graham RobbFor many, Paris is France but too the cognoscenti, the real country is to be found in the provinces. So to with the history of the country which though it may have Paris as the focus, once you have covered a fraction of this volume you will quickly see that Paris is overrated to the extent that it has eclipsed the role of the rest of this vibrant and interesting country.Robb has taken the country in from the comfort of his bicycle (cycling is important in France - just ask Lance Armstrong) but while his original intention was to create a history of France, what he has come up with is a book which contains innumerable, intriguing places to visit and soak yourself in the culture and history of the area. For instance, 100 years ago, only 20% of the population spoke French - the rest spoke Basque, Breton and 55 other dialects and languages - the story of France is not about the French, but about the numerous different cultures and people who today make up France.Quiet Corners of ParisBy Jean-Cristophe Napias (Author), Christophe Lefebure (Photographer) & David Downie (Translator)Think Paris and iconic sights come to mind - the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysses, Louvre, Sacre Cours, Notre Dame and at night, Moulin Rouge.Except this is not Paris. These are just some of the sights which are located in Paris but they are not what makes up the City of Light. You find Paris in more than the central arondisements which are the focus of virtually every other guidebook - instead, the entire city is taken in and this is positive in itself because it draws you out of the iconic imagery of what Paris is and intrigues the reader enough to go visit the places and neighbourhoods where real Parisians hangout. dr seuss cat in hat quotes

Chariots of the Gods

Eric Von Daniken, Author of the book titled: "Chariots of the Gods", wrote about his theory of visitors from outer space. During 1971 - Whilst living for a short time in Sydney Australia, our two eldest children Deborah and Neil and me went to see the feature film Chariots of the Gods also featured was a short film about Jesus, which was very sad to watch. As I worked with my dowsing pendulum and my subconscious Adviser during 1983 - I researched Eric Von Danikens theory and discovered the following:There is, in outer space, a populated world three light years away. If you relate that to travelling at 80% the speed of light, which is 148,800 miles per second (The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second), the journey takes four years to get here. The Planet out there is similar to ours. The only difference being, the land mass pattern. Their Solar system is similar to ours so are their planets. The name of the world is, 'TERN'. One day we will visit 'TERN' but I will tell you about that later.Compared with "Tern" we are 5,000 years behind with our social development. They are fully developed and have been for thousands of years. They enjoy many things now that we will enjoy in the not to distant future. They all have an olive colour skin completion. The men average 6' 6" tall and weigh 17 stone. Their life span is up to 126 years. If we could see them now, they would look and talk like robots and talk with a slow, clear, deliberate speech. It will be 500 years before we are equal to them and brave enough to meet them.Planet Tern is divided into four sections with a president in each section. Democracy prevails for all the people. Democracy as we know it will change over the years. What is acceptable now will not be acceptable in the future, i.e. we often hear swearing in public and see spitting on the pavements (sidewalks), which will carry a penalty fine, in the future. The reason why people from Planet 'Tern' visited this planet is because their social scientists received information from "Thoughts" from 'Inner Space' [another dimension explained lower down this page]. The visit was not only for the benefit of planet 'Terns' society but for the benefit of all populated worlds in the Universe. They were to prepare five teenagers, three boys and two girls, once transported from 'Tern' they were to travel to 'Planet Earth' so that they could multiply. The experiment was discussed at the highest level and met with a great deal of resistance, then a referendum was called and all the people throughout planet "Tern" voted according to the advice of their advising "Thought" via their Pendulum. Those that did not use a Pendulum, voted according to their conscience. The result of the referendum was for the experiment to be acceptable. For hundreds of years the people of Tern had been travelling deep space. The Star ship they had built was similar to Captain Kirk's Star Ship Enterprise, featured in the Star Trek series on TV.It would take fourteen years to prepare five children for the journey. Maintenance was increased, on the Star Ship in readiness. Five newborn babies, two girls and three boys where selected and put in isolation. From the moment of birth the children where not to see or hear anything and be protected from gaining a memory. For the following fourteen years those children where kept in dark silent isolation until they where finally placed on the 'Star Ship'. A special unit had been provided to keep them in isolation during the journey to planet Earth.I did some research on their 'Star Ship' but all I could discover was that it was as big as a foot ball pitch, powered by sound and had a crew of thirty. It also carried its own shuttle because there is no such thing as beaming up and beaming down. The people of 'Tern' had known for many years that Planet Earth existed. Their Space scientists had been waiting for their Social Scientists to give them a signal to make a visit. Just to clarify a point about the pendulum, when you know how to use it, information comes through from Inner space, via your Adviser, the now 14-year-old five children were taken on board the Star ship and the Journey began. The crew consisted of twenty men and five married couples, all trained for a pacific task. The Star Ship arrived safely and parked in earths orbit. Several crew members shuttled down to Earths surface and began searching for a suitable secure site to leave the five now teenagers. They researched many Islands around the world, including Japan, New Zealand and England. They decided England was to be the safest place for the five teenagers. They were now eighteen years of age. The crew returned to the Star ship. The next day the five teenagers were put to sleep, placed on the shuttle, transported to England, and placed naked in a meadow in the Lake District in North Yorkshire. The crew then returned to their Star ship, leaving no evidence of their visit for the children to see when they came out of their sleep. When the teenagers woke, all they saw were each other. They had no memory of the world in which they came from or their journey through space. What they did not know is they had advising 'Thoughts' (subconscious mind) to advise them. Just as your advising 'Thought' gives you advice, without you being aware of it. The five children had only each other and soon formed a close bond. The reason why there were two girls and three boys was to ensure they would share each other and not kill one another, the five Men and Women were put on our planet to ensure that our development was held back, I do know how our development was held back but I will save that for later. I must say I can understand the concern the people of planet "Tern" had, for those children. It was a big decision for them to make; some compassionate people would have found it very difficult to accept. There are over 1,000 populated Earth like Planets throughout the Galaxies in this Universe, they are seeded in pairs and each pair is situated at a distance close enough for return visits to take place. This gives people in the Universe that have an Eager Desire to travel in space, a chance to do so.Within the next two hundred years, we will make contact with the people on planet 'Tern' and they will then provide us with technology we need to build a Star Ship. The reason why this worlds development as been held back is so the rest of the populated worlds in the universe could benefit from the fourteen-year awakening period being reduced to twelve-years. You may think it would be a simple task for the dimension of 'Thoughts' to reduce the Awakening period but that is not so because only Almighty God can reduce the fourteen year awakening period.I wrote earlier about the people of planet 'Tern', their young people have become complacent about the wakening and it is taking longer for them to fully awake and receive their 'Eyer' as positive proof. Their Anti-social levels have increased. Social scientists of 'Tern' have been waiting for their young people's awakening to reduce from fourteen to twelve years. They will then be less inclined to be complacent and awaken in a twelve-year period, instead of the twenty years it is taking at present, this will result in more pressure being put on anti-social behaviour patterns throughout their worlds, as more people Awake and contribute support to their social system.Since my awakening during 1981, people of all the populated worlds in the universe have now had their awakening period reduced to twelve years because Awakening of the people of this world also started with my Awakening in 1981.The ultimate awakening in the future is from age sixteen to thirty years of age. I was just forty-four years of age when I started my awakening and since then during the first three years, experienced many physical changes within my brain. We have ten small fuses, which are located on the surface of our brain just under our skull and positioned over the top of our head, from ear to ear. As we take in education, those fuses break one by one. Providing you awake over at least a fourteen-year period, you will not feel those fuses break. I felt all ten fuses break over my three years awakening and each one was painful. On ten separate occasions, I stood alone in my living room at home and within a nine-month period, each of those fuses broke. It was similar to a light globe popping, when the filament breaks. My adviser would say to me " stand still Robert you are going to have a burn over ". I would stand perfectly still and anticipate the sharp pain that was to follow within my brain, a few seconds later. When psychiatrists research those fuses with their Advisers via a pendulum, they will learn much more about mental illness. We all have those ten fuses in our brain and as we age, those fuses break periodically but we do not feel them brake because each one is a safety valve for our brain. If a person is put under pressure by overwork, one of those fuses will break but they will only brake if that person gets near to nervous breakdown point, that is why many people have mental conditions because their brain is not ready to break a fuse. These people will experience things that make him or her become illogical; they then need medication to slow down their thoughts. When this world ends in two billion years time and the universe re-cycles, as a Perpetual Motion Machine; there will only be just one world in the next universe that has - Almighty Gods Son.This universe is a 'Perpetual Motion Machine' and recycles approximately every sixteen billion years. We are part of perpetual motion that develops man via evolution. We as an awareness conscious mind are life forms from another dimension and its our destiny to return to that dimension when our body dies; with our human memory intact.Returning to our original dimension is only achieved providing we qualify. To qualify we must reach a certain social standard. If we do not reach that standard, when our body dies our Awareness conscious mind reincarnates and becomes the Awareness conscious mind of an unborn child; with most of our previous memory erased.Reincarnation is controlled by 'The Dimension of Thoughts'. This means we are 'Thoughts' from that dimension. We are Almighty Gods children having a human experience. Eventually all 'Thoughts' returns to the dimension of thoughts, maybe not in this perpetual motion cycle but will return to the dimension of thoughts no matter how long it takes. When we initially return to the dimension of thoughts we remain in that dimension until we are ready to return again to this world to gain a new identity by transferring to any species of animal. Then again we have to qualify by achieving a human memory; when our body dies. This universe [perpetual motion machine] is in its first cycle, this means until the atom was split in 1942 no one could return to the dimension of thoughts. However, once you qualify and return to the dimension of thought it does not matter home many time you return to this world you will not have any physical experience of your continued visits because as a 'thought' you will shut down and when you begin to function again, after millions of years you will have a new identity and memory.Thoughts: are created by Almighty God', when created they transfer to the point where the 'Big Bang' takes place, which creates a 'Perpetual Motion Machine' [universe]. This means when we return to the dimension of thoughts we enjoy perpetual live.As this universe travels through space as a perpetual motion is programmed by almighty god to create life. This mean out there in the galaxies of this universe there are 100s of world like planets where man is indigenous to them all.A 'perpetual motion machine' [universe] is programmed to develop 1000 populated planets within each with its own solar system and programmed to begin travelling in space as soon as the Pyramids have been built. However, with the first cycle of a perpetual motion there is one world that is programmed for its development to be held back by religion. The means this world has been held back with religion for the benefit of all people that occupy populated worlds in the universe [perpetual motion].Whenever a world in the universe is ready to support life 'Thoughts' [almighty gods children] transfer and becoming the Awareness conscious mind of the first sea creature to a appear in the ocean. They are programmed to reincarnate until they return to the dimension of thoughts with their memory intact when their body dies; providing they qualify. The first 'Thought' to transfer to a unborn sea creature is programmed to be the first man to complete a fourteen year awakening and become the social scientist of that world. His awakening over a 14 year period is very easy and when completely awake he officially takes up his position of social scientist. By then he is only 30 years of age and recognised by other people as the first man to complete a fourteen year. This worlds development was held back so that the wakening period of all other populated worlds would be reduced to 12 years because by then all the worlds in the universe are experiencing the same problem and that is; some 16 to 30 year old people are causing social problems that in turn cause worldwide development; to progressively slow down.My awakening began during 1981 but instead of 14 years to complete, it was completed in three years during late 1984. That is when I received an EYER in only one EYE.- I certainly would not recommend a three year awaking for anyone. However, it is impossible for me to officially take up my position of this worlds Social Scientist because I lack academic qualification as a sociologist and am now 73 years o age. dr seuss cat in hat history

Zubi Diamond Introduces the Kingmakers to the Conspirators

I am still waiting for our economy to recover and am wondering if present stimulus package and other recovery efforts are really going to work. And I begin to wonder if recovery is possible if our leaders don't really understand what caused our economy to crash in the first place. Then I come across some information online about a new book by Zubi Diamond entitled "Wizards of Wall Street & Washington Lap dogs; The Scam That Elected Barak Obama." Diamond writes that President Obama is not aware that the crash was caused by financial advisors who have close access to the White House. As I read a few more pages I learn that the author believes a group of highly-placed and influential hedge-fund conspirators convinced the SEC to eliminate safeguards that were in place since 1938 to prevent the stock market from crashing. One the SEC safeguards were gone, the conspirators engineered the near-collapse of our economic system. Diamond identifies George Soros as the mastermind of this effort. This excerpt from the book is a good summary of what Diamond things of short-sellers: "Hedge Fund short sellers do not want price appreciation or increase in value, they only want and have an expectation of a future price decline and decrease in value leading to the destruction of the companies. Hedge Fund short sellers are not investors; they are masquerading as investors, they are the proverbial wolves in sheep's clothing; they are the financial market looters, selling what they never owned and stealing what they never owned, because that is what short selling allows them to do."The author says our congressional committees and representative leaders have surrendered the responsibility to write policy and regulate banks and the stock market to hedge-fund short-sellers whose greed for power and money led them to subvert capitalism and our free economy. Before recovery really is possible, says the author, the administration and congress must reinstate the uptick rule, circuit breakers and the trading curb, remove mark-to-market accounting and replace it with cost accounting, dismantle and quit trading all ETFs, regulate hedge funds in the same manner as mutual funds and pension funds, and regulate speculation on crude oil futures. After reading the first chapter I was thinking that this is just another conspiracy theory book and was about to lay it down. But after reading the next three chapters I came to realize that Zubi Diamond had done a lot of research, had personal experience in the market, and seemed to know what he was talking about. This is a book that Republicans and Democrats alike should read. Come to think of it, maybe President Obama and Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner also should read Zubi Diamond's new book-- Emory Daniels dr seuss cat in hat book

The Approach of Today's Text Books

As some of you may already know, the fact is that today's text books are rather irresponsible in their approach to teaching students. Obviously this is my personal approach to the topic, but let's be honest, have you seen how many "for goofs" books there are out today? Literally any topic all the way from losing weight to neuroscience is covered by these types of books. Now you may be wondering, "What is so bad about these types of books?" - and the answer is not that simple.Firstly, let's think about it. There are no "difficult" subjects pertaining any type of science. The problem however is, that it might be difficult to learn and study them. That is the difficult part - not understanding the topics. Thus, we might have a rather simple but truthful conclusion that "for goofs" books are for people that either do not have the time to learn something properly, or that they are just genuinely lazy. You decide which one is more viable.Another thing is, that apart from the already established fact that people are reading these types of books, is the fact that the book writers oversimplify the text books as well. Thus, we can also conclude the fact that they have the approach that the reader is a rather unintelligent person. I mean, why would anyone want to write a super simple book? I am sure not for a person that has some intelligence! And obviously, this is a very bad signal for us.Generally speaking, in my opinion, things that are difficult should be written as scientifically logically as it is possible - and not as "simple" as possible and with the approach in the regards that the reader is an imbecile. Through doing this, we make the people unsure of their values and of their knowledge - thus, we actually get the opposite effect that some intended in obtaining. Think about it: Is it not better to actually learn something really difficult and then be proud of yourself of achieving a difficult task? Rather than "learning" something simple, and then still be in the mental state as you have not achieved anything extraordinary. Decide for yourself, but give it a deeper thought. seuss book collection sets cat hat

The Ridiculously Long Article About Why the Twilight Books Are So Seductive to Women

Series overview and Bella the main character:I would describe the first book as the perfect seduction. Although all the books are well written and contain much that is alluring and seductive to women. A woman desires a man that fits into her self image fantasies that have been forming since she was very young. And thanks to Disney these fantasies are embedded even farther then her genetic wiring ever intended. I know, I know. Every woman is a unique creature. But all women have far more commonalities then they have differences. So lets start with what they most likely have in common with this book. The reality is that the popularity of the series was made off of book one. In a very real sense these book are an emotional roller coaster and likely not for the reasons you think. The roller coaster isn't about Bella getting into life threatening danger and having the love of her life come save her. That's what us guys tend to concentrate on when we read this story. But women are far more drawn to the real life ups and downs of Bella's relationships (all of them) not just the ones she has with Edward and Jacob. Her parents, her father doesn't understand her, and although he clearly cares he is emotionally ill equipped to relate to her. She feels alienated from her mother whom she has always taken care of. This strikes a cord because who of us (even us guys) very often feel at younger ages that our parents simply don't understand what its like to be us. We feel that they are out of touch with the realities of life at whatever age we are.Her human friends are the same way she has her close girlfriend, the boy who likes her that she has no interest in, and the not really a friend who seems to always be trying to be polite while undermining her position and trying to stick a dagger in her back. We all know that social circles like this not only exist but are common place.Bella also spends much of the book struggling with the idea of her own self worth. As we know most people, even ones that seem to hold all the cards in life, have problems with there feelings of self worth. Counter-intuitively it is also the case that many of the most beautiful and successful people also have the biggest problems when it comes to there viewpoint of themselves. Women in there teens and twenties almost universally from what I can tell suffer from great doubts about who they are, what there worth, why people love them, if there good enough, and what people think of them. They are also extremely sensitive to factors of social proof and overall social value of a person. The books are all about Bella seeking happiness but there is always a looming threat on the horizon that brings her crashing back down. The author describes and invokes emotion very very well. The highs of being in love, the lows of it crashing back down. Changes in there emotional states is exceedingly alluring to most women. You can even find women that are addicted to it in a way, by looking around for a girl that is a "Drama Queen". She needs changes in her emotional states so much that she sub-consciously creates emotional drama in order to feel it. Drama accomplishes a lot of things t once. Its gets attention, it sends emotion through the body (emotions are a highly addictive chemical), it's a way to be self righteous, its often fun, its interesting and prevents boredom, it gives things meaning... and on and on. There are a lot of good reasons for drama. But most men simply cant understand them because drama fulfills needs that MOST men don't have. Changing a woman's emotional state is what much of seduction and attraction is based off of.Sensuality and sexual energy, mixed with danger and the forbidden. In the books Edward and her cant be together because it's a danger to her. Not only could she be hurt by him, simply because he is much stronger then her, but he for the first two books is also likely to loose it and drink her blood. A considerable amount of female sexual fantasy revolves around that idea of danger within the safety of being with a man she loves and feels safe with. If you have never done it I suggest reading "My Secret Garden" a book that is all about women's sexual fantasies. You might also consider the prevalence of fantasy's that include handcuffs and or the idea of being tied up in some way. Though these generally require a man she feels comfortable with as there is a certain safety factor that must be met. I find this to be a bit of a contradiction and ironic because ultimately a woman can never be totally safe with the type of men they are most attracted to.Books three and four also continue the them of sexual tension and sensual danger that Bella and Edward have had all along. Once they are married sex is not the soft caring slow and careful thing that is most peoples reality. Its much more visceral then that. This again speaks to the sexual fantasies of women. One of the things that most men don understand is that properly motivated, properly released, a woman's sexual energy and appetites can, and do outstrip a mans. If you don't agree I recommend looking into the work of Steve Picus, this conclusion is supported by such facts as;1. A woman is the only creature in existence that has an organ that is specifically for sexual pleasure.2. A woman's body is able to have five totally different types of orgasm. Clitoral, Vaginal, Blended, Full body, and Psycolagnic. (Like Neil said Look it up)3. A woman can be given an orgasm that lasts minutes or even hours.None of the above is true for men.The "our secret world" factor. In the books Bella has a secret that she shares with first Edward and then another secret that she has with Jacob. It creates an "us and them" that links a woman's viewpoint of herself and what she knows the "conspiracy" and the future with the presence of a particular man.I would of course be remiss if I didn't break down the principal men in the books and the why of how they are so attractive to women.Edward: The first thing you need to know is that Edward at least in book one is not the Emo loser that he is in the movies.Edward begins the series as the mystery man. He's good looking, seems to be of high social value as he's part of a kind of elitist group in the school. In his book 'Influence' Robert Cialdini talks about a psychological principal called the 'Halo Effect'. In a nutshell, humans naturally assume that attractive and powerful people are smarter and more trustworthy then average people. However while most women are interested in looks to some degree, they are MORE interested in how you make them feel.Inexplicably he doesn't seem to like Bella. His reaction to her is repugnant for no reason that she can see. This spikes her attraction because most people, particularly young girls want to be liked. She has to wonder why and in doing so is forced to think about him. Women select men in modern human courtship. And even if the man selects the woman, many if not most women still harbor the secret fantasy that there 'letting him do it'... ect. Its useful to note this point because in the books Edward is the selector and not the selected. This kid of thing is very powerful, as it does one of my favorite things. It points out something to a woman that shes most likely NEVER heard from a man in her entire life.As this begins to lighten up he begins a series of push/pull that again spikes her attraction. He remains always a bit of a mystery; even after she discovers that he's a vampire his past is clouded. He shows masculine traits, he's nonreactive to her and to other antagonists, but he shows an ample willingness to protect Bella and his loved ones. He shows intelligence and culture but not at the expense of an ability to have fun. He has a slightly reserved personality but shows a wicked sense of humor in a few instances, and a willingness to walk away that shows he's non needy. He clearly exudes a sense of danger and excitement. He often talks about how he's not safe for her to be with and how she needs to find someone else. I don't think I could write a more perfectly seductive character.Ultimately Edward in the first book is a fairly good example of a fictional person that is good with women. It says something that women are that drawn to him even though he isn't real. Perhaps we should consider it closer.Jacob: Jacob is going to teach us all what not to do if you don't want your heart handed back to you on a plate after being minced up, beat up, and told lets just be friends. Don't get me wrong I liked the guy but I also was more then a little disappointed in how he acted. In book one Jacob is a small player. He's a kid that Bella gets some information out of by flirting with him a bit.In book two Jacob is good with Cocky/Funny he has fairly good frame control and basically just assumes that Bella is going to be his. He tries to Kino escalate. He does push/Pull as well but its really only due to the fact that he also becomes dangerous to be around, and as one girl I know said "he's a bit of a bastard". This actually works in his favor as it gives him a kind of masculine edge. For quite a while he comes off as way more of a man then Edward does, which I suspect is half the reason that women who read the book love him. Then it all falls apart because his seeming masculine qualities are simply a front, there not real. When Bella makes her choice at first he begs her not to go which is a huge way to demonstrate that hes low value. Then it gets a little better because he cuts her out of his life like he should after she dumped on him. Then he lets her back in his life to dump on him some more but continues to try and win her back by going cave man on her. When he finds out there getting married and he runs away for a few months only to come back for the wedding and get hurt again. After that his whole story slides into the realm of fiction so badly that it's not even worth going over. He does have a happy ending of sorts but its pure fiction.I'm of the opinion that the other half of the reason women find him attractive is that Bella really did a number on him and they feel sorry for him. How she treated him is so wrong it should be illegal but unfortunately it's something that happens in the real world far too often.Bella knew that he loved her, knew that she didn't love him and simply was stringing him along because at the time she was emotionally wrecked and she felt better around him. Every time he tried to escalate she shut him down but then would fly right back with some rubbish about needing time or something like it. She was hurting him, she knew it, and she kept doing it out of her need. I am of the opinion that this is one of the most cold-blooded and evil things a woman can do to a man, and rather unfortunately things like this happen in real life all the time. But I don't lay all the blame of this on Bella. If Jacob had dealt with it properly he would not have had to live through all the pain.Jacob kept coming back. He knew that Bella didn't really love him. He knew that she had picked Edward and was a fool to think she was going to change her mind on the spot. What he should have done was cut her out of his life and moved on. He showed how needy he was and let Bella's choices be the deciding factor in if he was going to be happy or not.Ultimately due to the fact that this book is fiction he ended up happy, but I cant help but consider how many girls are going to come away from reading this book this thinking that what Bella did is ok simply because Jacob ended up fantasy world happy and how many guys are going to be damaged from this simply because they have no idea how to deal with situations like it.ComparisonsIt's important to remember here too that the male actions are designed to be the ideal FEMALE fantasy. The feeling of power and attractiveness a woman feels when being pursued by multiple men is why there's so much interaction with Jacob, especially in the 3rd book where Bella reverts to a straight up terrible person as mentioned above. Women often view men trying to attract them as a sort of a game. They talk about it with each other, they have standard lines they learn when a guy asks for their number. I have had conversations with women who go out on the weekends with the mindset of "I am never going to meet Mr. Right at a club, but it boosts my ego to have men paying attention to me by the dozens, and I like to have free drinks... etc.Edward's constant insistence that Bella do what she wants, that he won't force her to choose, and that he doesn't get possessive is what works for him there. Bella's self-esteem is inherently low and she seeks external validation: she only gets that from Edward by pursuing him, but she gets it from Jacob even when treating him like garbage. Which one do you think she ends up with? Even when he's being weak, Edward's still demonstrating that he is high value, and when Jacob goes caveman, he's still doing it in a way that clearly suggests "If I can just make you love me, then we can live happily ever after...classic AFC mindset. The other key is, to a large extent, confidence. Edward NEVER supplicates. He asks her for nothing. Even when he goes on and on about her being "His only reason for living", he's never ASKING her to stay. There's a subtle but very important difference between martyrdom and fishing for pity, and I think that difference is a sense of nobility of purpose.Edward never, EVER, compromises who he is. His values are completely and unilaterally consistent. He controls his frame absolutely. Bella gets sucked into his reality and cannot leave, nor does she want to. So, again, even when she's his "reason for living", he is completely confident and assured in his reality. It breaks for no one and modifies for no one: he manages to be the ultimate independent even while being dependent. That might be the key to the Rake mentality, come to think of it. That's essentially Edward to a T (see the Art of Seduction by Greene if you haven't read it): he's the archetypal model of that personality: utterly consumed by passion and desire for the woman involved while at the same time still in control of his frame and his situation. The other key here is (and this is so, so important): Edward doesn't make that shift to Bella or nothing until she succumbs to him. Bella GIVES Edward her love, Jacob ASKS for it. Once she's sold on you, a woman will put up with amazing amounts of crap; go begging for it and you're done.Because of all this and the initial coldness, aversion, and desire to drive her away until he can't resist her anymore, he's essentially executed a textbook seduction. Here are the bullet points:* Before they interact, he DHV's.* He receives the most ideal social proof humanly possible (EVERYONE loves/wants/is in awe of them)* He immediately controls the frame and the interaction between them (think of the 'hatred' he demonstrates at the outset as the ultimate neg/push)* He doesn't approach until all of this is established.* He makes her qualify herself (first interaction is the microscope scene? He forces her to prove she's more than simply pretty)* He fulfills one of the most primal possible needs to fulfill, that of the invincible protector (stops the van)* Continues the push-pull interaction, makes her work for every single piece of him.* Waits for losers in school to ask her to the dance, suggests something totally different for them to do (already creating that secret world AND demonstrating he's not like all of them)* Plays invincible protector AGAIN, and introduces danger (he clearly intimates he's ready, willing and able to kill while making her feel safe)* Keeps sexual tension exceedingly high* Acknowledges her sexuality and demonstrates its power (his inability to resist her blood) while at the same time not succumbing to it, maintaining his status as her EQUAL (that's important), but remaining in control. She gets to both feel desirable and desired AND doesn't view his desire for her as a DLV.* Continues to make her work for every little bit.* Constantly good/suave/confident at EVERYTHING, NEVER brags or seeks approval.* Continues to play the C&F/You're too innocent for me game, and finally--* Waits for her to fall for him totally, THEN commits to her totally WITHOUT CHANGING HIS CONFIDENCE LEVEL/INTERNAL CODE ADHERENCE.He's committed to her until death because HE DECIDES TO BE, not because of anything she does. He makes a decision and sees it through, NO MATTER WHAT. Again, this is so, so important. "I choose to love you, and that means I'm now doing xyz", instead of "You love me, and because you love me I'm going to do xyz". He is ruled by HIS passion, not hers. In a way it's almost entirely independent of her; it's not based on her actions but "who she is".To sum it all upEdward is ruled by his own code, NOT BY BELLA. He is overwhelmed by his feelings for her but is not enslaved by them.Jacob, of course, is the exact opposite. Immediately shows interest (Book 1), fails every shit test she gives him (fix my bike so I can hallucinate about my boyfriend kthxbye), is forceful rather than confident, misreads signals, gets angry at her when she doesn't reciprocate his feelings, tries to AMOG Edward and gets blown out, begs for approval, etc.Jacob is ENSLAVED by his lust for Bella and seeks to abdicate control. He doesn't accept her love once given; he begs or demands it before it appears. That's the essence of inner game right there, it seems like. Jacob has plenty of AMOG behaviors and moments, but it's all a lie: It's a skin he puts on, just like the wolf. Edward's the vampire, period. He is who he is, and nothing--not even uncontrollable passion--truly subverts him. He's not faking it.Women love this book because it bull's-eyes the ideal male companion AS SEEN BY A WOMAN and indulges the ultimate, guilt-free fantasy--of all their insecurities being swept away in an avalanche of perfect seduction and pure, narcissistic validation (the guilt conveniently off-shifted to the heroine so they can call her down for her bad behavior and then become her as she's being seduced). Reading these books is like reading the diary of the naive, curious, insecure girl inside every woman (just like reading any Conan novel is like reading the diary of any naive, curious, insecure boy inside every man.) Ignore them at your peril. dr seuss cat in hat quotes

Fictional Book Review - Noah's Compass by Anne Tyler - Liam Pennywell's Own Ark of Life

Accomplished writer Anne Tyler's latest novel is entitled "Noah's Compass," (Knopf, 2009). Sixty-one year-old Liam Pennywell is downsized from his fifth-grade teaching position at St Dyfrig's, a second-rate private boys school. He adjusts his finances by moving into a smaller, one bedroom apartment; located near the Baltimore Beltway. During his inaugural slumber, he is assaulted and robbed. He awakens the next morning; hospitalized with a concussion.Liam yearns to remember his attack and other events forgotten since the crime. During a doctor's appointment he witnesses an older gentleman accompanied by a younger woman. It's clear she whispers in his ear important facts, like the receptionist's name. He realizes that the man has his very own "rememberer." He wants one too. Liam identifies the man via an Internet search as Ishmael Cope, owner of Cope Development, Inc. He schemes to meet up with Mr. Cope and his rememberer as they enter his office building. Liam fabricates a story that he and Cope met at a charity event. He reminds Mr. Cope that he suggested Liam submit his resume for employment consideration. Neither he nor his rememberer recalls the offer.Mr. Cope's rememberer is Eunice Dunstead. She proffers to help Liam refine his resume to enhance his odds of employment at Cope Development. Liam has no desire to work at the company; yet accepts Eunice's assistance. She develops a meteoric mash on Liam, which, Liam surprisingly enjoys. Eunice, 38, is plain in appearance; often wearing peasant skirts or harem style pants with bulky sandals. She shuns makeup under her big glasses with smudged lenses. She presents an occasional lack of grace; is naive, literal-minded and subject to blushes and rashes. And yet, with all of her idiosyncrasies, Liam is smitten. Events unfold that force Liam to evaluate if dating Eunice is best, even if it may be his last chance at love.Kitty, 17, is Liam's youngest of three daughters. He and his second wife Barbara conceived her in hopes of saving their marriage. She didn't. They divorced a year after her birth. Kitty crashes Liam's new habitat because of ongoing arguments with Barbara. She displays her typical teenage antics including those that involve her boyfriend, Damian. Liam views her as a foreigner, having invested little time with her over the years.Liam babysits his five- year- old grandson, Jonah; and their bond finds him contemplating religion. Jonah embraces fundamentalist Christianity like Liam's daughter Louise and her husband, Dougall. He plays under Liam's watch by coloring in his "Bible Tales for Tots" book. Louise and Liam disagree about her religious beliefs, which is often a conversation topic when retrieving her son. The book's title, "Noah's Compass," is referenced in dialogue between Liam and Jonah. Liam tells the child that Noah's Ark was stationary and never sailed. "There was nowhere to go. He was just trying to stay afloat. He was just bobbing up and down, so he didn't need a compass, or a rudder, or a sextant," a story mirroring Liam's own life.Bard Pennywell left Liam's mother, his sister Julia, and Liam when he was a teenager. He found happiness with Esther Jo Baddingley who's still his wife. Liam visits the local couple to announce his downsizing, assault, and meeting Eunice. He's reminded how historically, he and his father have been challenged to communicate.Police identify Liam's attacker; and the suspect's relative visits Liam with a strange request. He's nonplussed by the suggestion and finds himself wondering if he's the villain. These relationships, situations, and others, cause Liam to evaluate his life perspective and journey. They reflect our own mortality and instincts to review personal accomplishments and decisions as time advances.Tyler is a talented author with 18 books to her credit. "Noah's Compass" presents at an expedient, spacious 279 pages. Read Tyler's narrative and you're sure to appreciate her captivating story, and discover your own connection. dr seuss cat in hat history

Practical Photography Essentials From David Peterson

If you're reading this right now, you must somehow take even a slight interest in photography or have a friend who always has a camera hanging around his neck. That friend of yours, most often than not, cringe at the sight of his newly developed pictures after maybe risking his life hanging in a cliff just to capture that unbelievably breathtaking sunset in a "different" angle. If you have a friend facing that problem, then there's a perfect gift for Mr. Mission Impossible- The Digital Photography Secrets by David Peterson. This book takes amateur photography and amateur photographers close to the professional level.Peterson has a complete guide for the aspiring photographer. Simple, direct, very efficient and practical are the tips of his book. No wonder some very satisfied readers have called it their "Bible" for photography. Even a person who just appreciates looking at pictures may be tempted to get a copy of this book. The advent of the Digital Age has opened the art of photography to a wider spectrum of enthusiasts-- artists and tech geeks alike. It made taking pictures a whole lot easier. However, that doesn't mean an average person holding a digital camera can already be called a photo guru. There are still a lot of things to consider to appropriately capture that "amazing" moment and this is what Peterson offers in his book. However, if you are looking to read about philosophies or theories and history in photography, then this is the wrong material for you. But that wouldn't be such a downside for many, since it's the application that matters and it is what this book exactly offers. Its how to get the same results a professional photographer would have in his prints. The book is very easy to read and understand. The tips all cater to the beginner and to the intermediate photographer. Questions like "What to do if you need to take a low light shot and you don't have a tripod to steady the camera?" seems like an easy problem to overcome, but Peterson shows you how professionals would handle it and with that knowledge, makes that task, if not easier to overcome, makes you more efficient, alternatively. At the same time, it also has tips that would serve even a seasoned photographer. It's like an idiot's guide to digital photography but it won't make you feel idiotic. Instead, it would make you feel confident while snapping those pictures since the techniques you would be using are the same techniques used by a professional photographer.Digital Photography Secrets does not only focus on getting that spectacular print, but it also touches on other aspects in photography that a novice would neglect-- like what essential equipments or gadgets you should never leave behind and how to keep those equipment and your camera in excellent working order. Aside from that, it also teaches techniques that would help in working with subjects-- living, moving or inert. Take the case of working with children, the book guides you on how to deal with them and capture that specific delightful moment. The book does not only guide you on photography per' se, like capturing images correctly, but also guides you on how a professional photographer would actually work around the people and obstacles around him for that perfect shot.A certain amount of artistry would still be required to get that amazing prints but the essentials are laid down by Peterson in his book. All you need to do is follow the guides and tips, work like a pro and find your inspiration. dr seuss book collection

Nature's Numbers by Ian Stewart

The book under review Nature's Numbers by Ian Stewart is worth reading by one and all.Ian Stewart is the author of over sixty books. In a very lucid style he explains the complicated mathematics that is found in nature to a layman. He writes the well-known 'Mathematical Recreations' column in the famous magazine 'Scientific American'.To the non-mathematical readers the book is a boon. The book has nine chapters namely, The natural order, What mathematics is for, What mathematics is about, The constants of change, From violins to videos, Broken Symmetry, The rhythm of life, Do dice play God, Drops, Dynamics, and Daisies. All the chapters are with very interesting examples. In chapter one titled, Natural Order, the author explains the amazing facts of patterns that are found in the nature! In nearly all flowers, the number of petals is one of the numbers that occur in the strange sequence 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89!The great scientist Kepler found that if you take the cube of the distance of any planet from the Sun and divide it by the square of its orbital period, you always get the same number. It was the same for all the six planets!Io, Europa, and Ganymede are three of Jupiter's larger satellites. They orbit the planet in, respectively, 1.77. 3.55, and 7.16 days. Each of these numbers is almost exactly twice the previous one. There is a significant pattern. It is interesting to note about the Ship/Dock theorem. That is, if you want to change the word ship into the word dock by changing one letter at a time and getting a valid word at every stage, you will find that all solutions have one thing at common: at least one of the intermediate words must contain two vowels. Readers will be motivated to do this puzzle on their own to find out the result. The rhythm of life is wonderful. In nature everything is rhythmic! There are numerous examples given in the chapter 'The rhythm of life'. The author analyses the chaos theory in the chapter 'Do dice play God'.There is a list of books for further reading to those who are interested to know more about natures' secrets. It is highly recommended that all should read this book to understand natures' secrets or rather secrets of God! seuss book collection sets cat hat

Book Review - The Broadband Connection

Software developers/programmers should learn the art of effective communication in order to succeed in their profession. They should know what to do and what not to do while speaking at technical meetings, presentations, internal and informal meetings. Allan Carroll in his latest book, The Broadband Connection, has outlined all the important techniques which need to be followed while delivering a presentation. At first I thought the book deals with broadband internet. But upon careful examination, I was amazed to see how the author has covered the nuances for delivering a successful presentation in a step-by step way.The author initially examines the various methods involved in public speaking including the important rules to be followed before, on and after the day of speaking. I noticed that Alan narrates his real world experiences when he visited various countries/places in Page 37. The remaining chapters explain the key aspects such as structure of the conversation, managing resistance, conscious awareness.I very much liked the chapter which points out the various aspects involved in the art of questioning. In addition, you will also learn how to successfully create a cordial atmosphere with the audience at various situations. For instance, if you turn to Page 149, 150 and 151 the author has narrated sample conversations which you can easily modify as per the circumstances. The book also includes a glossary which enlists the meaning of various words. I don't see any relation of these words with public speaking but some of them do have a meaning. The author also provides a bibliography with related reference books.I feel that majority of the techniques discussed in the book can only be mastered by experience if you dn't have this book in your hand. I would suggest the author to include URLs of those websites which provide information related to presentation and public speaking. The book is an essential reference guide for all those who are involved in public speaking. Experienced speakers can refine their knowledge by following the tips mentioned in the book. dr seuss cat in hat quotes

Three Great Books on Virtual Server Hosting

Virtual server hosting or cloud computing is the latest phenomenon to have broken through in the IT world. While this may seem like an alien concept to those who are not technically minded, virtualisation as a concept, first surfaced in the 1960s when computation scientist John McCarthy preached about the 'public utility'. In 2010, we're no longer in the concept stage. Today, it's the topic of conversation in every business.Virtual hosting has become the new way to compute and can be described as a pool of shared servers which can deliver individual IT infrastructures for many different users. Virtualisation can save money and make a huge difference to our environment by eradicating the problem of underutilisation of physical servers, so understanding the world of cloud computing should be a priority for businesses of all sizes. If you would like to learn more about virtual server hosting, there are many specialist publications available to help you get to grips with it.Here are three great books that could help you:1. Cloud Computing for "Dummies" (2009) - This book is extremely easy to understand, making it ideal for readers of all levels. Even if you are not a technology whizz, you will still find the information provided in this printed guide very easy to digest. Written by a team of experts, this is a very up-to-date summary of what the recent technological revolution is all about.2. The Big Switch: Rewiring the World from Edison to Google - This publication is written with a speculative approach, looking at our computer revolution and discussing the possible pros and cons that we could face in the future. Correlating today's IT developments with the electric grid, The Big Switch takes us back into the past and gives us a possible forecast of the future.3. Executive's Guide to Cloud Computing - Made for absolute practicality, this book can advise business leaders of the best ways to move forward in a world where clouds lead the way. This is a non-technical guide that explains how organisations can save money while achieving significant growth.Virtualised servers have become a key topic today. Understand the technological revolution of the 21st Century by reading up on what everyone else is talking about. dr seuss cat in hat history

Book Review - Tom Venuto's "Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle"

Introduction:Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle is a granddaddy of all successful dieting approaches. It covers motivation, in depth knowledge and strategy to mobilise the forces of nature and your own very body into helping you to shed pounds of fat, and tone up. Tom Venuto places directly into your palms every single bit of knowledge a person could ever require to eat right, workout right, and gain the shape you desire. This book is founded on the magic principle that an ounce of muscle burns fat more efficiently than any diet, even when you are at rest.Venuto installs Killer Motivation and Never Quit MindsetThe book is split into a superb goal setting and motivation section where it teaches you how to set proper goals and use NLP affirmations and Visualisation from psyco-cybernetics to keep you motivated committed and pumped for success. This is where most programs let you down and why most diets or training programs come nowhere close to burn the fat feed the muscle. This is awesome and the same principles can be used in all areas of your life, and hey it WORKS, anyone who is a champion bodybuilder knows how to stay the course, overcome laziness, procrastination and be self motivated, this can improve your life in every area!In my opinion this section of the book is by far the most important, as its the single reason we fail to achieve our goals, not addressing them properly, Tom goes into Great detail and guides you into creating a goal list that will keep you driven and productive in the hard times, whats more the principles are translatable to every area of your life.I cannot stress the importance of this enough, if you fail to plan you are planning to fail. this is not gobbledygook. The human mind needs a target or it hits whatever your thoughts are dominated by which can be pretty scary if you are a cynic. Why What works for John may not work for you, and what WILL work for you.I like the way Tom has gone into detail about different body metabolic types, a much misunderstood concept, and something most training and dieting systems ignore, there are strategies in this book for every body type that will work for youWhat to eat, when to eat it and why you will outperform everyone else.
Special little foods that amplify your metabolism and stimulate muscle growth, certain veggies that increase muscle and the importance of regular protein intake, why you should eat a lower carb diet and increase protein intakeWhat Weight training to do to stimulate muscle growth & Why Cardio is so importantWeight training as you can imagine is covered in detail and you get some sample workouts as well, The weight training package in this program covers the exercise which helps you to gain strength and muscle as easily as possible. It's the missing piece of the fat loss puzzle that can turbo-charge your diet or exercise program and finally help you achieve the body you've always wanted. As you know combining cardio and weight training has a synergistic effect maximising a high metabolic burn rate for hours after you workout, expecially if you have done very intense cardio.Secret Tip:When you BUY the book - read chapter 14,- So you can immediately start the program, then read the chapter on cardio- then read about the weight training, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, go to the Motivation and Goal setting section and DO the work. If you do all this you will be golden and have the body of a spartan in 3 months! dr seuss cat in hat book

To Kill a Mockingbird - A Short Review

Nearly all of students in the United States at some time or another will be made to read and understand the American classic "To Kill A Mockingbird." Whether the students enjoy it and learn from it is another story! I personally read the book and saw the movie when I was in the eighth grade, and I just watched the movie again for the second time as an adult so I am giving a quick review. Much to my surprise, I understood the movie just about the same as I had when I had first seen it.The movie begins in a small town called Maycomb, Alabama and is set in the depression era. At the time, the South was still deeply divided, very much prejudiced and divided. The story follows three years in the life of one family, consisting of 8 year old Scout Finch, her brother Jem and their father Atticus, a lawyer. The plot thickens as a white woman accuses a young black man of rape. His subsequent arrest and trial provides the backdrop to the story. The author chooses to show much of the story through a child's point of view and somehow manages to weave in the tough themes of race, class, and justice. The story takes its time and progressively builds its substance. The story begins in the summer, just before Scout is off to her first year of school. Scout get used to school quickly and along with her brother Jem, she likes to fantasize about going over to the scary Boo Radley's house to get a peek at him. After much talk and no action, Jem gets curious enough and gets the courage to go see Boo Radley for himself. All the while, the town is getting geared up for the trial of the accused rapist Tom Robinson and Atticus Finch is appointed as his lawyer. The kids continue to play in their own world, oblivious the the serious situations around them until things get so hot that they become involved in events beyond their understanding. The trial begins and the circumstances reveal the towns dark and ugly side. Being an honest and good man, Atticus is forced to fight the odds to defend the truth. He goes against overwhelming odds to try to save the man he knows is innocent of the charges. His heroism is evident and teaches a hard lesson.Young Scout learns a good lesson and sums it up when she says, "most people are essentially kind when you really see them." This story can make you laugh and cry through its ups and downs, twists and turns, and teach you a good lesson all the while. The great American classic "To Kill A Mockingbird" still resonates today as much as it did when it first was published in 1960. dr seuss book collection

The Brave Voices of Everyday People

Last week in the afternoon and about the same time today, I started to browse the internet for a new book to read. I usually do this, and when I do my research I sometimes read book reviews. I had just finished reading a great book, and when I had come near the end of that book there was only one book in my mind, that I really wanted to read.So yesterday I researched the reviews for that book, I do not think there needs to be a huge rave review for this book. It was exceptionally special all on its own. The individual responsible for this unique idea was called Frank. What Frank had made was a book that was artistic. I was kind of curious to read it, my friends who I just discussed this book with, had informed me that they already knew about this book and were all encouraging me to take a chance with the book. To just read it.Now the kind of books that I prefer to read include complicated literacy, or in the most simple way I can put it in which is a cliche' way, passionate romantic novels. The books I read are thick with knowledge and imagination, but I did like the point of view from my very persuasive friends and decided to read the book. So then after a couple of days of arranging, my friend had given me Franks latest book for me to borrow and read. The book was thin. It looked like a young childrens picture book. This puzzled me. As I read the book I realised that I was too quick to judge and felt guilty. Inside were the secrets of heroes. As I touched the smooth vinyl pages with my hands, I realised I was gliding my hands on soulful cards that all had their own voice. It felt like a spiritual journey when I was reading. This book put me through numerous emotions that made me feel haunted, shocked and bubbly. Some of the subject headings that I came across include:
Exciting Fantasies

Religion

Depression

Life and Death

Hope
With over 3 years of collecting, I never realised how brave everyday people were. Each page lets you think a lot about the person behind the secret. There has been over tens of thousands of helpers for Frank and everyday it seems to increase, as the books become more favourable and shared throughout the world. With the tens of thousands flooding in through the mail, more and more fragile secrets are public to frank, the world and especially to the person who sent it in.With the latest book out, it is a nice collection that goes along with my library of many other important books. seuss book collection sets cat hat
